The first annual national symposium on agricultural mental health takes place March 8th.
The free virtual symposium is being hosted by The Guardian Network, a volunteer group focused on suicide prevention working within the CMHA umbrella.
Program Manager Marnie Wood points to the results from a 2016 Canada-wide survey as to why there needs to be a focal point on mental health in the production field.
Wood says there’s been decades of research on this topic and part of the reason of the symposium is to centralize it all and figure out what’s working, and where the gaps may be.
