For the whole Month, you can enjoy the naturally sweet nectar of Canada: Maple Syrup.
For the Month of March, Huron County will be hosting Maple Mania. It’s being held by the Economic Development department, in partnership with local maple syrup producers.
Beginning March 7th, 10 local restaurants will offer a prix fixe (pre-fix) Menu with spring’s natural sweetener. From Appetizers, salad dressings, meats, vegetables, and even drinks.
Blyth Creek Maple Farms will offer Apple Fritters and Maple Milkshakes. Coastal Coffee is brewing Maple Syrup Latte’s. Hannah’s Maple Farm is serving their very own ‘Hannah’s Maple BBQ Sauce’. You can grab a dozen Maple Butter Tarts at The Tart Shack and grab some Pecan Maple Danish’s at Whilhemina Bakery. You can soothe your sweet tooth more with Maple Cinnamon Buns from Brickhouse Bakey and enjoy Maple Thumbprint Cookies from The Cookie Rainbow. Bring a tasty treat home from BRØD Bread & Pastry; they are serving up breads, tarts and more maple sweet treats.
On March 18th and 19th, you can journey and visit local sugar bushes, enjoy a pancake breakfast hosted by your local firefighters in Blyth and Zurich.
You can experience candy making, birds of prey presentations, ice carving demonstrations and military manoeuvers in the bush.
Take your time on a sugar bush walk with Indigenous Food Historian or experts on trees and forest animals from the local Ausable Bayfield or Maitland Valley Conservation Authorities.
On the March 18th evening, the White Squirrel Golf Course and Restaurant is hosting ‘Maple meal and Comedy Mayhem’. the evening will have a three-course dinner with maple infused dishes and a comedy show with Cassie Cao, Jarret Campbell and Nour Hadidi, who have all been on Just for Laughs.
Tickets are $60 each for dinner and the show.
