A 29-year-old from Tillsonburg is in some hot water with the law.
Huron OPP was doing a RIDE Program on March 18th on London Road in Bluewater. At about 2:45 am, a vehicle failed to stop at the checkpoint. Police were sent after the driver and they were caught going 62km/h over the posted 80km/h.
After speaking to the driver, it was determined the driver had been drinking, didn’t have a valid driver’s licence, and had an open bottle of alcohol.
Kathleen Wood is charged with drinking and driving, operation while impaired over 80, excessive speed, open container of liquor, and no licence.
The involved vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and the accused’s driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 1st, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
