Training for the annual Lambton Youth Short Film Competition begins in April.
Forest Optimist Club member Ron Van Horne tells ExeterToday.ca the program has been in place for several years. Van Horne says it continues to be driven by talented teachers in the community and Brent Orr – a veteran of the Youth Film Program within the Toronto International Film Festival.
There’s a team that acts and one that works on production. Van Horne says more schools are joining the program.
New sites added this year include schools in Watford and Petrolia. First Nations students from Kettle and Stony Point will also be able to participate in the training.
Training will be held in various participating schools during the week of April 11th to 14th with a further date in May. The competition is part of the annual Lambton Film and Food Festival and runs from Thursday, May 25th to Sunday, May 28th.
