Art is a very important part of any community, and ours is no different.
The Cultural Collective is an incorporated, non-profit cultural organisation based in South Huron. Comprised of over fifty local artists, musicians, and cultural workers. The organisation is centred on providing creative opportunities and enriching our local communities through arts and culture.
A guiding principle of The Cultural Collective is the idea of the “third place,” a concept outlined by Ray Oldenberg in his 1989 book The Great Good Place. According to Oldenberg, people need a third place outside of their home and work to “anchor” them within community life and to facilitate and foster broader, more creative interaction.
Alec Moore is the Vice-Chair and says fundraising is necessary to deal with overhead costs.
