It’s the Canadian Mental Health Association’s 72nd annual Mental Health Week, and that means it’s an important time to recognize the services in Huron County that help people with their own mental health struggles on a day to day basis.
The CMHA’s regional manager of Rural Services for Exeter and Goderich Dawn Crook says that the occasion presents an important opportunity
Crook says that the goal of Mental Health Week is to reduce barriers, and open up the conversation,
She also said that it’s important to note that this is not an issue that is isolated to urban centers, it’s important in our local community as well.
CMHA national is hosting a mental health awareness campaign on their social media, and you can get involved by posting your mental health journey using the hashtag #MyStory.
If you’d like to get involved with CMHA Exeter, they can be found at 149B Thames Road West, and are also available by phone at (519) 235 – 0335, or by email at exeter@cmhamiddlesex.ca
