“You’re Not Welcome Here” is the message from Huron OPP after a truck rally in Goderich.
OPP went to the modified car and truck rally on May 6th around 9pm. There was about 50 people who were participating in illegal acts like mischief, dangerous driving, disturbing the peace and stunt driving among others.
Most fled the scene when police arrived, but some were charged with stunt driving.
Police say this was an ‘unauthorized and unsanctioned event that compromised public safety’.
Unsanctioned car rally participants can expect a heightened police presence in Goderich. Individuals acting unlawfully may be charged and their vehicle may be towed.
Members of the public who observe any suspicious or illegal activity are encouraged to contact police by calling 1-888-310-1122 or 911 for emergencies and crimes in progress. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or leave a web-tip at P3tips.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
