A series of infrastructure improvements that have flipped the town of Bayfield inside out for more than a year are nearing completion.
The project with the attached price tag of almost $3 million began last April (with a stall for the tourist season), and has an estimated completion of the May long weekend.
The upgrades include accessible sidewalks, sewers, hydro infrastructure, drainage and more. The changes attempted to sustain the heritage feel of the village, while also bringing it up to date.
One notable change is the new clock tower, which was installed at the corner of Main Street and Clan Gregor Square – the clock tower commemorates the heritage of the town, with a ship wheel design.
