Following some spirited public consultation that sent the new Exeter Mural on the hunt for a new home, a location is finally in sight.
Public consultation yielded that more that 60% of those polled at the open house on March 16 liked the mural idea, but contested the proposed location of the front of the library.
Discussion at the Municipality of South Huron council meeting on Monday (May 15) revealed that the mural committee has earmarked a new location for the installation – the side of the Bank of Montreal building.
Official approval from BMO has not yet been issued.
The BMO building is located directly north of the Downtown Parkette, with a large canvas for the artist to work with.
The County of Huron hopes for installation to begin in the end of May, or early June.
