A Lucknow cyclist is starting a cross-country trek on Sunday to raise money for Wingham and District Hospital, and the Children’s Hospital at the London Health Sciences Centre, for cancer research.
57-year-old Jurjen Weerman plans to make the 8,700 kilometer trek, tackling around 100-125 kilometers every day for three months – rain or shine.
He’s set a goal of raising 1 penny per kilometer, starting his cycle this Sunday – May 28th – in Victoria B.C., with a completion goal of the end of August.
