Lambton Public Health began the 2023 beach water quality monitoring program on Monday (May 29) at several public beaches across Lambton County.
Throughout the summer, the county will be testing for high levels of bacteria detected in the water daily at Grand Bend Beach (both the North and South Beach), Ipperwash Beach, and weekly at the Pinery.
Any concerns about water quality and safety for swimmers will be posted on those beaches, however, the public should continue to keep in mind that high wave activity and heavy rainfall can impact the safety of the water.
Water quality monitoring continues until September.
If you want up to date information about water quality at any of the locations listed, you can text the word Beach to 226-909-3003, call the Beach InfoLine at 519-383-3816, toll-free 1-800-667-1839 ext. 3816, or visit the Lambton Public Health website at LambtonPublicHealth.ca
