A tragic situation in Bayfield over the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a distress call from a boat, and when they arrived they immediately performing life saving measures on an individual who had already been brought to the shore.
Sadly, the 32-year-old Bluewater resident was pronounced dead at the scene.
To add to the horror of that afternoon, while assisting in the emergency, a 46-year-old volunteer from Bluewater also experienced a medical emergency – they were transported to the Goderich Hospital and then later pronounced deceased as well.
The causes of these two deaths have yet to be determined but police say that post-mortem examinations have been scheduled for both.
