Huron County Council is moving forward with a proposed 20 unit apartment building in Exeter, slated to provide more affordable housing.
At a council meeting on June 21, council awarded the contract for the construction of the building Bronnenco Construction out of London for a little over $8.3 million – falling within council’s budget of $8.5 million for the project.
Christine Hoffman, Manager of Housing Services for the County of Huron says that seeing the project come to life is something she’s looked forward to for quite some time,
The project will fill a gap that Hoffman sees in the community,
Hoffman says that the demand for this type of housing is obvious,
The project was approved by council in 2021 – and developments like this one will continue to chip away at the waiting list for affordable housing in the county.
