The Municipality of Bluewater announced the successful completion of the Bayfield Main Street Revitalization Project and celebrated the milestone with an official re-opening event on Saturday.
The project aimed to enhance the Main Street Heritage district, making it more accessible for visitors and improving its appeal to year-round business visitors.
The revitalization project focused on several key aspects. Firstly, major storm water infrastructure was installed to mitigate flooding issues and ensure the safety of residents and businesses. Additionally, efforts were made to enhance the aesthetics of the area, burying hydro lines underground, updating heritage streetlights and pedestrian lighting, and incorporating beautiful landscaping features such as rain gardens and trees.
