If you’re looking for something new to check out this week, you can visit the Huron County Museum’s new quilt display in honour of Residential School Survivors.
Miss Kettle and Stony Point Jr., Jaylynn Wolfe, along with her mother Laura, initiated this project. Upon discovering 10 Journey Home panels, they approached the Kincardine Sunset Quilters Guild with a proposal to create a single quilt. However, the guild went above and beyond by offering to produce all 10 quilts, each with its own unique narrative.
The guild generously presented the quilts to Jaylynn, who will then gift them to survivors of the residential school from Kettle & Stony Point First Nation following the conclusion of the exhibit on September 3.
Admission to the museum is free for anyone with a library card, so swing by and check out this amazing collaboration.
