The leaders of the day camp were all smiles. R: Laura Trembulak
If you think back on your childhood field trips – a provincial housing announcement was likely not a destination.
A local day-camp at Relouw Early Childhood Learning Centre made the trek down to a housing announcement by the Province, who handed the County of Huron a cheque for almost $6.5 million last Friday for a new housing development in Exeter.
One of the leaders of the group, Laura Trembulak, said that they hoped to educate the kids about issues in the community,
By inspiring these young minds, they have undoubtedly sown the seeds for a future generation of responsible and socially conscious citizens.
MPP Lisa Thompson expressed her excitement about the enthusiasm shared with her by the kids, and profound sense of hope that they provided as leaders of tomorrow.
Trembulak said that she hopes the activism they were working to instill in the young people stays with them,
The day camp’s unconventional field trip not only provided an educational experience for the young participants but also served as a reminder of the importance of fostering community awareness and engagement from a young age.
