If you’re a local property owner looking to beautify your outdoor space, now is a great time to plant some trees.
According to the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority, tens of thousands of trees are planted by local land owners every year, with cooler weather in Spring and Fall being ideal conditions for trees to be dormant, allowing them to be less damaged in transplanting.
If you’re looking to use natural landscaping to help watershed conditions, the ABCA is available to help you look for funding, or cost sharing programs! You can always reach out to them to see if you’re eligible.
You can order a tree from them anytime from now until September 15th – trees cost $19 – $30, and you can also pay the ABCA to plant them for you, to make it as headache free as possible.
If you want to order trees yourself, head to abca.ca/forestry/treeorders/
