Ann Devries and her husband Bart spearhead the campaign in the area
The annual Terry Fox Run is on the horizon – and Exeter’s own run is happening on Sunday (September 17th) from 10-2 at McNaughton Park.
Ann Devries and her husband Bart have helmed the Exeter run for over 20 years, they say that it’s great to see people come out year after year,
Terry Fox, a Canadian hero, set an enduring example with his Marathon of Hope. The funds raised during the Exeter run are crucial capital donations for cancer research.
Participants can choose their own route through the park, and they also have a street path this year for people with limited mobility, or that want to join in on their bikes.
Every Canadian is familiar with the story and legacy of Terry Fox, and Devries says that the impact begins with young people,
She also says that it’s important to continue to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, because the effects it has on individuals is far reaching.
You can join in this year’s Terry Fox Run by coming down to McNaughton Park on Sunday, or by donating on-site, electronically, or through terryfox.org
