A local business is working to give back to the community.
Retail Sales Manager at Moffat and Powell Rona in Exeter Korey Moore is spearheading a series of fundraisers alongside his staff, with proceeds going to the Huron Women’s Shelter.
The fundraisers are part of Rona’s “Home Sweet Home” initiative, which is being embraced by Rona’s throughout the country, throughout the month of September.
Giving back to the community is the responsibility of small businesses, says Moore, and giving back is a natural response to the support that they get from locals,

Moore says that the campaign has been well supported by staff, ownership and management alike.
The first event of their campaign is a chili cook off tomorrow – where local Rona’s will be competing for bragging rights, and you can get a bowl of their delicious creations.
They’re also hosting a car wash on September 23 (you can find more details on our community calendar) as well as a contractor event nad back sale on the 28th.
Moore says that he has also partnered with other local businesses to ask for donations to accompany theirs in a raffle,
Prizes include a Muskoka chair, Milwaukee tool set and more!
All proceeds go to the Huron Women’s Shelter, helping people in need throughout our community – a need that Moore recognizes is great right now.
If you’d like to get involved, you can head to their chili cook off, or any of their other events throughout the month – your support is part of what makes South Huron a great place to live.
