Reid was at Rona on Friday, and was so excited to see the community come out.
Moffat and Powell RONA held a Chili Cook Off on Friday – part of their annual Home Sweet Home initiative, where each year a new charity is chosen to receive donations.
This year they picked the Huron Women’s shelter as the recipients of the donations and it was a huge success!
According to the manager at Rona – the total raised from the cookoff was over $300 in just a few hours.
Jenelle Reid Fundraising and Public Education Coordinator for the Huron Women’s Shelter and Second Stage Housing says it was incredible to be chosen by Moffat and Powell RONA.
She also says it was so amazing to have the support from Moffat and Powell RONA, and get extra support from the community.
Reid talks a little about all the Huron Women’s Shelter does for women in the community.
It is so important to show support to the Huron Women’s Shelter because of all they do for the women and children in need.
Because of the increase of help needed, there has never been a bigger need for support.
