In an effort to bridge the gap between the community and essential services, the Connection Centre in Exeter is hosting a “Lunch n Learn” event on Friday, October 13th, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
The event offers a unique chance for the community to explore the Connection Centre and meet various service providers. For a ticket price of $20, attendees will enjoy a delicious Chinese lunch from Canton House.
Following the meal and presentations, participants will have the opportunity to tour the centre’s facilities – an opportunity that Andrea Loohuizen, Volunteer Coordinator at the Connection Centre, thinks will be informative.
The centre provides a haven for individuals in need, offering services such as showers, laundry facilities, and meals, but also connects service providers with people that need help.
The Connection Centre serves as an intersection, connecting those seeking services with service providers. Currently, it hosts 9-12 service providers from various fields. Andrea stressed that if someone needs assistance, the Connection Centre is the place to go, and they will be connected with the appropriate resources.
Loohuizen underscored the importance of learning more about the Connection Centre.
Ultimately, the Connection Centre is a place where individuals can find not just services but a sense of community and home.
Tickets for the Lunch n Learn event are available through United Way Perth-Huron or at Noah’s Ark, with a ticket deadline of Wednesday. Don’t miss this opportunity to support your community and learn more about this vital resource!
