Young chefs are getting the chance to compete for some insider training from a professional.
The Team Petteplace Children’s Business Market has partnered with Pineridge BBQ to challenge young participants creativity.
Pineridge provided each child with one of their meat product, encouraging them to transform it into a homestyle family meal. The response has been phenomenal, with a diverse range of submissions showcasing the children’s culinary talents.
Participants hail from various backgrounds, including those deeply involved in sports and extracurricular activities, as well as those who haven’t found their niche in such pursuits. Strategic Relations Manager with Pineridge BBQ Melissa Prout emphasized the importance of providing an outlet for creative expression for those who may not have opportunities in other areas.
The winner will spend a day in the kitchen with the executive chef at Pineridge BBQ!
Judging criteria includes a variety of storytelling elements, and, of course, a taste test to determine the ultimate winner.

Submissions are due by Sunday at midnight, with the selection process set to begin on Monday. The organizers aim to announce the winner by the end of November.
Prout also hinted at future cooking contests, expressing the desire to continue providing platforms for young chefs to express themselves. The next one is already in the works for December, promising more opportunities for culinary creativity among the youth.
