King says that their decorations have slowly accumulated over the years | From Facebook
Some show their love of the holiday season, with a few lights, a tree and maybe some fun stands, however there are some that go completely over the top with their love of the season.
St. Mary’s, more specifically, Wilson Court was graced with an amazing holiday display for the season all thanks to one family’s love of the season.
Mark King – Owner of a “ridiculously over the top Christmas display” took his favourite tradition as a child and turned it into something the whole community can enjoy.
A huge holiday display doesn’t just come together overnight. Months of planning and preparation goes into it.
King usually starts getting everything together for the project around mid-October.
Lots of lights are also put into a project like this.
The holiday season is normally a time for joy, however King says they have had a couple of grinches for sure, and that you can’t please everyone.
For the most part, the community has have nothing but positive reactions and interactions with the over the top display.
King notes his neighbors are awesome and so understanding! They’ve all rallied behind the holiday display.
He also notes one neighbor in particular enjoys the display.

They get a lot of people just stopping, people take family photos on their yard, selfies,
Last year they even had Santa drive up in the Coca-Cola holiday truck!
This year for the lights they will be doing something special.
They will be accepting food donations, toy donations, anything that you want to bring, they will be passing that along to the St. Mary’s Kinsmen. Mark recently joined the local club, and threw that idea out to them, and they jumped right on it!
They will keep running those donations and Christmas lights until January 2nd with the lights on every day from 5pm to 11pm!
This weekend, Santa will be making a surprise appearance from 6-9pm on Saturday. Families are welcome to take a picture with Santa and there’ll be Candy Canes and warm apple cider for everyone free of charge.
The light display can be found at 42 Wilson Court in St Marys.
