Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) Wingham site is set to close permanently on January 1, 2024.
Among the services affected by the closure are sexual health services and immunizations – which will be found at other nearby health sites.
This comes after HPPH announced that to address the financial challenges, they will be eliminating 13.5 positions within the organization in 2024, representing a 10% reduction in staffing levels.
It is important to note that the closure of the HPPH site does not impact all health unit services in Wingham.
Well water sample kit pick-up and drop-off services, as well as oral health services, will continue to be available.
Well water sample services can still be accessed at the hospital lab, while oral health services will be provided through the HPPH space at Wingham & District Hospital.
For further information, Huron Perth Public Health can be reached at 1-888-221-2133 or by visiting their website at www.hpph.ca.
