Together with the local immigration partnership, libraries and museum, Huron County has put together a community arts project.
Karen Stewart, Cultural Development Officer with the County of Huron explains the project.
Surprisingly, most of the ingredients were available in Huron County, with some going to London for specific things.
Stewart says they broke the project down into two different parts.
The second part of the project, put people’s arts craft skills to the test.
Once everyone had their artwork completed, it was turned into something the whole County can enjoy.
All of our celebrations are based around food, especially around special holidays like Christmas and New Year’s.
Every culture has traditions and favourite foods based on where they come from and it allows us to be exposed to some of these new tastes from around the world in restaurants.
This project was made possible through a partnership with Huron County’s Cultural Services, Economic Development (Taste of Huron) and Local Immigration Partnership departments and was funded in part by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
