This is National Non-Smoking Week.
Debbie McIntyre a Public Health Nurse and Certified Tobacco Educator says a common myth out there is that Nicotine Replacement Therapy, like the patch, or gum, doesn’t work.
Another common misconception is that Nicotine Replace Therapy products can’t be used together.
She says that while many people say that smoking can help you relax, that’s absolutely untrue.
She also says that there are many programs in place to help you quit. All you have to do is contact your doctor or nurse practitioner to get started. If you don’t have one, call the health unit.
