Steve Pinsonneault, the Thamesville resident and seasoned Chatham-Kent councillor and entrepreneur, emerged victorious over Neal Roberts, chief of the Middlesex London Paramedic Service, to clinch the nomination for the Progressive Conservative candidate nomination for the vacant seat of MPP in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
Former MPP Monte McNaughton who retired in the fall extended his congratulations to Pinsonneault via social media. Premier Doug Ford has until early April to call a byelection in the riding, one of two vacant seats now in the legislature following another resignation last week.
A vast rural riding, Lambton-Kent-Middlesex covers an area roughly the same size as Prince Edward Island. After a riding held by the Liberals for eight years, McNaughton won for the PC party in 2011.
