Seaforth Community Hospital is set to experience a temporary reduction in services at its Emergency Department tonight.
Due to unforeseen health human resource shortages, the Emergency Department will be closing its doors at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, to reopen at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
During this temporary closure, individuals in need of immediate medical attention are urged to dial 9-1-1. Paramedics will be available and will redirect to the nearest operating Emergency Department to ensure the community’s emergency service needs are met.
For non-urgent health concerns, Health Connect Ontario at 811 is a valuable resource, offering assistance with non-emergency health-related inquiries 24/7.
Local residents should be aware of alternative 24-hour Emergency Departments during this period:
– Exeter – South Huron Hospital
– Goderich – Alexandra Marine & General Hospital
– Stratford – HPHA– Stratford General Hospital
It is advisable to confirm the regular operating hours of these Emergency Departments before seeking assistance.
