The provincial government announced a $110 million investment Thursday to connect up to 328,000 people to primary care teams.
78 new and expanded interprofessional primary care teams are part of the investment, which Health Minister Sylvia Jones says will help you get the help you need.
The province says there’s 1.3 million people not currently connected to primary care.
Jones said they will continue to ensure everyone who needs to have primary care will get it.
Over 400 new primary care providers will be created as part of 78 new and expanded interprofessional primary care teams.
Jones says work and collaboration to address that gap continues.
$90 million will be going towards the expansion while the remaining $20 million will be boosting existing primary care teams.
