It’s “Your Health, Your Wellness Day” here on myFM – and we sat down with Wendy Moore – Research and Marketing Manager at Hear Well Be Well Hearing Clinics.
Moore says they are looking to help anyone they can protect their hearing with of the many Hear Well Be Well Hearing Clinics.
There is a huge stereotype that hearing loss only happens to older people, but in reality there are many everyday factors that can lead to hearing loss.
Most people don’t realize that these everyday things could be reasons that they are noticing a decline in their ability to hear.
Ototoxic medications are drugs that can damage the inner ear and cause hearing loss, tinnitus, or balance problems.
Common Ototoxic medications include Aspirin in large doses, Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and naproxen, Antibiotics and aminoglycosides and Cancer drugs like cyclophosphamide, cisplatin, bleomycin and others.
Moore says no matter what, anyone can be affected by hearing loss.
