In celebration of International Women’s Day on Friday, March 8th, McDonald’s locations across Huron County are teaming up with the Huron Women’s Shelter for a special fundraising event. The partnership, born out of a previous successful collaboration, aims to raise vital funds to support the shelter’s crucial programs.
Throughout the day, participating McDonald’s in Goderich, Exeter, Wingham, and Grand Bend will donate one dollar from every coffee sold to the women’s shelter.
Genelle Reid, Fundraising and Public Education Coordinator for the Huron Women’s Shelter says that they’re excited to see everyone come out!
The partnership between McDonald’s and the women’s shelter reflects a deep commitment to supporting and celebrating women in the local community.
For those unable to attend the event in person, donations can also be made directly through the Huron Women’s Shelter website. Contributions will go towards a wide range of programs offered by the shelter, including a 24-hour crisis call line, emergency shelter, counseling services, children’s programs, transition support, and the newly enhanced second-stage program with a one-year residential component.
Reid says that your funds are absolutely vital to the ongoing services to the most vulnerable in our community.
If you ask Executive Director Corey Allison, the fundraiser not only provides crucial financial support but also serves as a powerful symbol of solidarity for women and children seeking refuge and support.
So why not head to your local McDonald’s on International Women’s Day, satisfy your caffeine craving, and support a good cause.
