The Bayfield River Valley Trail Association (BRVTA) is celebrating the International Day of Forests at Bayfield Town Hall tonight. Lambton area naturalist and author Larry Cornelis will be presenting at 7 p.m., with admission by donation.
Cornelis, a Horticulturist, Naturalist, and Ecological Restoration Consultant, will share insights on local landscapes and future directions. He has extensive experience with conservation and restoration projects in Southern Ontario and is known for his engaging presentations across the region.
Cornelis’ presentation will cover “The Story of Our Local Landscapes” and “Reflections on Our Future Path.”
He will explore the historical evolution of local landscapes, including the impacts of climate change, Indigenous land stewardship, colonialism, and industrialization. In the latter part of the evening, he will offer personal reflections on the future, addressing the challenges faced by both humanity and the environment.
