Huron County Council has given the green light to buy two new ambulances.
These ambulances, costing $657,304 each, will come from Demers Ambulances.
Ambulances typically serve for five years according to the current policy, with replacement in the sixth year.
Although two companies were contacted for replacements, only one responded, as the other doesn’t make the type of ambulance used in Huron County.
These new ambulances will have advanced features like a UV air sterilization system and HEPA filter system to prevent airborne illness transmission.
Expected delivery for the new vehicles is December 2025.
