An upcoming job fair organized by the South Huron Chamber of Commerce hopes to connect employers with local talent, to keep skilled workers in the community.
Robin Glenny, Chair of the South Huron Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the advantages of the event.
Another key benefit of hiring and working locally is that local hires are more familiar with the area and can start work more quickly, which can be advantageous for employers. Additionally, keeping employment local helps boost the local economy, as employees are more likely to spend their earnings within the community.
Scheduled for June 13th, this event will take place at the South Huron Recreation Centre from 2 PM to 6 PM. This initiative, a collaborative effort with the Municipality of South Huron and Huron County, aims to address the high demand for local employment by connecting businesses with potential employees.
The job fair is open to all businesses and job seekers free of charge, and it will also feature support from local employment services.
Employers interested in participating are encouraged to register as soon as possible by contacting Kim Robinson at the South Huron Chamber of Commerce via phone at 226-423-3028 or by email at office@shcc.on.ca. While there is no strict deadline for registration, early sign-ups are appreciated to facilitate planning.
For job seekers, there is no need to register in advance—simply show up between 2 PM and 6 PM to explore the opportunities available.
