It’s called Discovery Week…and it’s a great chance for medical students to learn more about life working in a rural or remote community.
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance welcomed 28 students from Western’s Schulick School of Medicine and Dentistry last week.
The program sees first-year medical students participate in immersive, one-week placements in health-care settings across Southwestern Ontario.
The students are not only exposed to teamwork and collaboration in the health care setting, they get to have some FUN in the local community. The hope is that one day, after graduation, they may RETURN to a similar setting.
