Learn how to grow your own food, while exploring new tastes with your children, it’s Rural Response for Healthy Children’s Community Garden!
Although they’ve been running the program in Goderich for several years now, this year they’re expanding the program to Exeter, at the Exeter Pentecostal Tabernacle.
That was Katrina Clarke, the Executive Director of Rural Response for Healthy Children – she says that the program aims to educate young children about healthy eating by encouraging them to try new foods and learn about the origins of their meals.
Beyond promoting healthy eating, the program empowers families to grow their own food, a skill particularly valuable given the current economic climate.
The program runs for eight weeks, starting with a launch party on Thursday morning (June 20th). Each week, children will get hands-on gardening experience, learn about different plants, and enjoy healthy snacks.
Registration is available online, but drop-ins are welcome.
For more information and to register, visit the Rural Response for Healthy Children’s website. Join the community on June 20th for a fun and educational summer at the Exeter Community Garden.
