The closure of the road in Exeter today has certainly caused some frustration for commuters – with lineups around all alternate routes around town, including lengthy queues at Airport Line and Dashwood Road, with construction workers directing lines of traffic.
Despite the major detour, with the only river crossing in town closed, many local shops and businesses saw near average levels of business, with locals going about their day largely as usual – although perhaps having to schedule in extra time to get from A to B.
The full day closure hopes to be the only day that there are major interruptions in traffic, at this time the Municipality isn’t anticipating another closure (barring any unforeseen changes of course).
Traffic routes are expected to return to normal tomorrow morning at 6am.
