A young person has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a death in Central Huron.
On July 2, 2024, at 4:18 p.m., Huron County OPP and emergency services responded to an address on Cut Line Road between Parr Line and Tipperary Line. A youth, who was allegedly 12 years old, was found, taken to the hospital, and later pronounced dead.
As a result of the investigation, police charged a 13 year old person from Central Huron with first-degree murder.
The accused appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich. Their identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and will not be released.
The investigation is ongoing by the Huron County OPP Crime Unit, with help from the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, OPP Forensic Identification Services, and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
