The provincial government’s putting $10 million into its emergency department care training in hopes to address the staffing shortage across Ontario hospitals.
Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Sylvia Jones said this is another step forward.
Minister of Colleges and Universities Jill Dunlop says this investment will bolster the healthcare system.
The government said since the program launched last year it’s attracted 400 nurses from 72 rural and remote hospitals to date.
The additional money will help more than 1,000 nurses upskill their training.
