It is myFM’s Local Manufacturing Week Showcase presented by Premium Transportation. Today we are taking a look at our main sponsor, Kevin Hogan, Owner of Premium Transportation.
The business was founded by Mike Hogan in September of 1997. Mike used his extensive industry knowledge and experience to start the company. Mike began as a driver, then moved into dispatch, management, and finally became a General Manager at various trucking companies. He gained valuable experience in every part of the business and decided to create his own company.
Kevin says the business has grown thanks to all the hard work Mike put into the business.
The goal was to start small with a few customers, provide excellent service, and grow from there. Since its early days, Premium Transportation has expanded from a one-man operation in a small office to a company with over 20 Owner/Operators and six office staff, now working from a new 10,000-square-foot warehouse and office building.
Kevin told myFM when he was asked if he would like to sponsor Local Manufacturing Week, he knew he had to say yes.
Premium Transportation offers a range of services including dry and temperature-controlled full truckload (FTL) transport to and from the US and Canada, as well as dry and temperature-controlled less than truckload (LTL) transport from Ontario to the US and Western Canada. They also provide dry long-term and short-term storage, crossdocking services, and ground-level access to their warehouse for odd shipments.
Kevin says often times, people don’t realize just how important local manufacturers are to the community.
