Environment Canada meteorologists are monitoring a group of severe thunderstorms that could bring strong winds, small hail, and heavy rain. The storm is currently near St. Joseph and is moving east at 40 km/h.
There is a risk of wind gusts reaching 100 km/h and heavy rain. Areas likely to be affected include Exeter, Bluewater, St. Joseph, Dashwood, Zurich, Hensall, South Huron, and Centralia.
Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and water buildup on roads. Strong winds may move loose objects, damage weaker structures, break tree branches, and even overturn large vehicles.
Emergency Management Ontario advises people to take shelter immediately if severe weather is near. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when storms are expected or happening and may cause large hail, strong winds, or heavy rain.
This warning is in effect for Goderich, Bluewater, and Southern Huron County.
