Hockey fans and those interested in local history are invited to attend a community talk, “When the Wings Came to Town,” on Thursday, September 5th, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lambton Heritage Museum.
The presentation will be led by David McLean from the Forest Museum, with special guest Bill Lochead, a former Detroit Red Wing. Guests will learn how local connections, a love story, and some unexpected fun brought NHL greats like Gordie Howe, Terry Sawchuk, and Ted Lindsay to Lambton County.
The event ties in with Lambton Heritage Museum’s current special exhibition, “Hockey,” created by the Canadian Museum of History, which looks at the sport’s impact on Canadian culture.
