To promote health and wellness by encouraging physical activity and learning through play, Lambton County Library is adding new Sports Kits to its collection.
According to Manager of Library Services, Darlene Coke, there are four different Sports Kits, each focused on a specific sport and containing the basic equipment needed to play.
The Sports Kits include:
Basketball: Comes with a basketball and pump.
Pickleball: Includes two paddles and balls.
Baseball: Contains four bases, a pitcher’s marker, bat, and ball.
Soccer: Includes a ball, cones, and pump.
Patrons can borrow each Sports Kit for seven days. This gives them time to try a new sport, practice, or enjoy a game with friends and family.
Adding Sports Kits to the library collection will help the library meet their goal of providing great experiences for patrons and making the most of their collection.
Over the years, libraries have expanded beyond just books to include items like binoculars, walking poles, and snowshoes. These new Sports Kits give people the chance to learn a new hobby or skill and try out a new sport.
Sports Kits can be borrowed with a valid Lambton County Library card. Library cards are free for anyone who lives, works, studies, owns property in Lambton County, or is a resident of a First Nations community in Ontario.
