The Huron County OPP is warning people about a phone scam that took $33,000 from a couple in Goderich.
Police say the scammer pretended to be from the couple’s bank and told them their accounts were in danger. The scammers then went to their home to collect their credit and debit cards.
The couple shared their banking information and soon discovered that the thieves had stolen money from their accounts.
Never share banking information or cards with anyone who comes to your door, as banks will never ask for this.
