Huron County OPP officers participated in the Thanksgiving Weekend Traffic Campaign from October 11th to October 14th. The focus was on traffic safety, particularly addressing four key areas: distracted driving, impaired driving from alcohol or drugs, speeding and aggressive driving, and ensuring seatbelt use.
During the campaign, Huron OPP officers conducted 124 traffic stops and issued 89 charges. These included 45 for speeding, 1 for stunt driving, 10 for not wearing seatbelts, 4 for impaired driving, 7 for insurance-related issues, and 22 for other traffic violations. Additionally, officers issued 52 warnings over the weekend.
The OPP reminds everyone that traffic safety is a shared responsibility, and urges all drivers to help keep Ontario’s roads safe.
