Huron County OPP have charged a West Perth resident with impaired driving after a car went into a ditch.
Officers received a call about a vehicle in a ditch near the intersection of Blyth Road and McNaught Line in Huron East. When police arrived, they spoke to the driver and found that they had been drinking before driving. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and taken to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests, which showed alcohol levels over twice the legal limit.
A 30 year old from West Perth, has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Over 80. Additional charges were also laid under the Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor License Control Act.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the driver’s license was suspended for 90 days.
