Today is Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks face off against Port Stanley tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
The Exeter Hawks are proud to have forward Chase Wedlake on their team, a local talent who has been playing for the Hawks for four years. A native of Exeter, Chase grew up in the town’s rich hockey culture, starting as soon as he could walk.
His passion for the game began with the Perth Lakers, where he played through minor leagues up to minor B.
Chase’s love for hockey is evident in his commitment on and off the ice. As a forward, he enjoys scoring goals and being involved in offensive plays.
He shares a close bond with his teammates and coaching staff, fostering a strong sense of teamwork.
Chase also takes pride in helping guide the younger players on the team. With years of experience, he enjoys mentoring rookies, giving them advice, and leading by example.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being part of the Hawks for Chase is the strong support from the community.
He mentioned when fans continue to show up, it changes how the team plays.
When it comes to pregame rituals, Chase keeps it simple with a favorite meal of mac and cheese before every game, a tradition he’s kept for four years.
As the season progresses, Chase’s goals for the team are clear.
The Hawks are currently leading the standings by just one point, Chase is urging fans to show their support.
Fans can also look forward to a special event during the upcoming game—the ‘Pink the Rink’ night. After the game, jerseys will be auctioned off to raise funds, adding an extra touch of excitement to an already big matchup.
Go and cheer on your hometown Hawks! Come before or after the game and fuel up at Crabby Joe’s in Exeter!
