Due to drifting snow and poor visibility, road crews are finding it difficult to keep up with their usual winter maintenance schedule.
To address this, South Huron is reissuing the Significant Weather Event declaration starting at 11:30 a.m. on December 5th. This means the regular timelines for clearing roads and sidewalks are temporarily suspended until the declaration is lifted. Once the event is over, normal maintenance schedules will resume.
This declaration is a reminder for people to be extra careful when traveling on local streets and sidewalks. Even though maintenance crews are still working, it may take longer to get roads and sidewalks back to their usual condition.
