The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 53-year-old Stratford resident following an in-depth investigation into online child luring.
On December 4th members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, with the assistance of OPP Digital Forensics and Perth County OPP, conducted a search at a Stratford residence, which resulted in the arrest of a Stratford Resident. The accused is facing several charges under the Criminal Code, including luring a child to facilitate acts such as an invitation to sexual touching, sexual interference, sexual assault, and child pornography.
Authorities stress the importance of safeguarding children from online sexual exploitation. Parents are urged to take an active role in discussing internet safety with their children and to utilize resources like cybertip.ca and protectchildren.ca to help shield young people from potential harm.
