2024 has come to an end and South Huron Fire Chief Jeremy Becker is proud of the department’s accomplishments over the past year. The department focused on major advancements in fire safety, training, and community engagement, ensuring the well-being of South Huron residents.
A highlight of 2024 was the certification progress made by firefighters in response to the new provincial legislation coming into effect in 2026.
Another significant achievement was the distribution of over 100 smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to households in need. This initiative was made possible through a partnership with Enbridge Gas.
Looking ahead to 2025, Chief Becker expressed excitement about expanding fire prevention programs and launching a new county-wide firefighter recruit training program.
As South Huron residents prepare for the new year, Chief Becker urged everyone to prioritize safety.
With a productive year behind them and exciting plans ahead, the South Huron Fire Department remains committed to serving and protecting the community in 2025.
